Tokyo Cruise Port Transfer & Private Tour | Haneda, Narita, Mt. Fuji, Hakone & Kamakura
A cruise arrival in Tokyo is a little different from arriving at an airport.
When your ship reaches Tokyo, you may have several hours — or even another full day — before your flight leaves Japan.
So what should you do after leaving the cruise terminal?
Some travelers want to go directly to Haneda Airport.
Others need a transfer to Narita Airport.
And many of our guests prefer to use those remaining hours for one final experience in Japan — exploring Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Kamakura or Hakone before continuing to the airport, an airport hotel or another hotel in Tokyo.
This is exactly why private cruise terminal transfers and sightseeing tours can be useful.

Two Important Cruise Terminals in Tokyo
For cruise travelers arriving in Tokyo, two important locations are:
Tokyo International Cruise Terminal
(東京国際クルーズターミナル)
and
Harumi Cruise Terminal
(晴海客船ターミナル)
Tokyo International Cruise Terminal handles international cruise ships, while the renewed Harumi Cruise Terminal has also resumed cruise operations. Tokyo Metropolitan Government information confirms that Tokyo is currently operating these two cruise reception bases.
Harumi is particularly relevant again: after redevelopment, cruise-ship reception resumed in 2025, and the terminal is actively receiving cruise vessels in 2026.
That means travelers should always check exactly which Tokyo cruise terminal their ship will use before arranging transportation.

Your Cruise Has Arrived. What Happens Next?
Cruise schedules vary, but morning arrivals are common.
For example, some vessels dock around 8:00 AM. Recent official Tokyo Port schedules show actual Harumi arrivals around 7:00, 8:00 and 8:30 AM, depending on the ship.
After disembarkation and the necessary arrival procedures, passengers collect their belongings and leave the terminal.
From that point, everyone’s journey becomes different.
For some guests, the cruise is over and it is time to fly home.
For others, it is simply the beginning of another part of their Japan trip.
That is why we arrange each cruise pickup according to the ship, terminal, flight time, luggage and next destination rather than treating every cruise arrival as the same transfer.

Cruise Terminal → Haneda Airport
One of the simplest requests is:
Tokyo Cruise Terminal → Haneda Airport
If your flight departure time works comfortably with your cruise arrival, your driver can meet you after disembarkation, load your luggage and take you directly to Haneda Airport.
There is no need to move your cruise luggage through railway stations or arrange several separate transfers.
For travelers finishing a long cruise with multiple suitcases, a door-to-door private vehicle can make the final part of the journey much simpler.

Cruise Terminal → Narita Airport
We also receive many requests for:
Tokyo Cruise Terminal → Narita Airport
Narita is farther from central Tokyo, so planning the departure time carefully is especially important.
Your ship’s actual arrival, disembarkation time, international flight departure time and traffic conditions all need to be considered.
If you have an earlier flight, a direct transfer may be the sensible itinerary.
But if your flight is late at night, there may be another possibility.
Instead of spending most of your final day waiting at the airport, you may be able to enjoy some sightseeing first.

Late Flight? Turn Your Transfer Day into a Tokyo Tour
This is one of the cruise itineraries we are asked about most often.
Imagine that your ship arrives in Tokyo in the morning, but your flight from Haneda is not until the evening.
Your itinerary could become:
Cruise Terminal → Tokyo Sightseeing → Haneda Airport
Depending on available time, your interests and traffic conditions, your private vehicle can carry both you and your luggage while you enjoy your final day in Tokyo.
At the end of the tour, there is no need to return to the cruise terminal or hotel to collect your suitcases.
Your luggage is already traveling with you.
Then the vehicle continues directly to the airport.
For cruise passengers, this combination of transfer + sightseeing + airport drop-off can be a practical way to use the final day in Japan.

Cruise Terminal → Mt. Fuji → Haneda Airport
If your schedule allows enough time, some travelers want something more ambitious:
Tokyo Cruise Terminal → Mt. Fuji → Haneda Airport
For international visitors, Mt. Fuji may be one of the places they most wanted to see during their Japan trip.
A private vehicle makes it possible to consider a route where you leave the cruise terminal with your luggage, travel toward the Mt. Fuji area, enjoy sightseeing and then continue to the airport.
However, this is not a standard airport transfer.
Mt. Fuji is a long-distance excursion, so your ship’s disembarkation time and flight departure time must leave sufficient margin.
Weather and road conditions also matter.
For this type of request, we recommend sending us your complete schedule first so that we can check whether the itinerary is realistic.

Cruise Terminal → Kamakura → Airport Hotel
Another popular style of itinerary is:
Cruise Terminal → Kamakura → Narita Airport Area Hotel
or
Cruise Terminal → Kamakura / Enoshima → Tokyo Hotel
This works particularly well when your flight is the following day.
Instead of going directly to an airport hotel in the morning, you can use the day for sightseeing and arrive at your hotel later.
Kamakura offers temples, historic streets and coastal scenery, while nearby Enoshima adds another seaside experience.
Your suitcases remain in the vehicle while you travel.
At the end of the day, the same vehicle takes you to your next accommodation.

What About Hakone?
Hakone is another possibility for travelers who are not flying immediately.
For example:
Cruise Terminal → Hakone Sightseeing → Hakone Ryokan
or, depending on the overall itinerary:
Cruise Terminal → Hakone → Tokyo / Airport Area Hotel
can connect the end of a cruise with an onsen stay or another stage of a Japan journey.
The important point is that cruise pickup does not have to mean simply Port → Airport.
It can become the connection between two completely different parts of your trip.

We Try to Meet You Inside the Terminal Area
One concern we often hear from cruise passengers is surprisingly simple:
“How will we find our driver?”
This is something we take seriously.
When terminal parking arrangements allow, KT Hire prepares the vehicle parking in advance so the driver can park and meet the guests at the terminal exit with a name board.
You come out of the terminal, find your name and meet your driver.
Then we walk together to the vehicle.
You do not need to wander around an unfamiliar port area searching for a black van among many other vehicles.
If parking arrangements or terminal conditions make the meeting point different, we contact the guest using the contact information provided at booking and explain where to meet.
The goal is simple:
Ship → Meet Your Driver → Load Your Luggage → Start Your Journey

Your Luggage Can Travel with You
Cruise passengers often have more luggage than ordinary day-trip travelers.
Several large suitcases plus carry-ons are not unusual.
This is one reason the vehicle choice matters.
When requesting a quotation, please tell us:
Number of passengers
Number and size of suitcases
Cruise ship name
Cruise terminal
Arrival date and scheduled arrival time
Flight number and departure time, if flying that day
Final destination
If you would like sightseeing between the cruise terminal and your next destination, tell us where you would like to visit as well.
We can then consider both passenger capacity and luggage space when recommending a vehicle.
One Cruise Arrival, Many Possible Journeys
There is no single itinerary that works for every cruise passenger.
Your journey might be as simple as:
Tokyo International Cruise Terminal → Haneda Airport
or:
Harumi Cruise Terminal → Narita Airport
But it could also become:
Cruise Terminal → Tokyo Tour → Haneda Airport
Cruise Terminal → Mt. Fuji Tour → Haneda Airport
Cruise Terminal → Kamakura / Enoshima → Narita Airport Area Hotel
Cruise Terminal → Hakone → Ryokan
or:
Cruise Terminal → Tokyo Hotel → Continue Your Japan Trip
That flexibility is what makes cruise-day transportation different from an ordinary airport transfer.

Your Cruise May End in Tokyo — Your Japan Journey Doesn’t Have To
When you walk off the ship in Tokyo, you may be carrying several suitcases and wondering what to do with the hours before your next flight or hotel check-in.
That time does not necessarily have to be spent waiting.
You can meet your driver at the cruise terminal, load your luggage once and build the rest of the day around your actual schedule.
Maybe that means going straight to Haneda.
Maybe it means one last day in Tokyo.
Maybe it is Kamakura.
Maybe it is Mt. Fuji.
Or perhaps the cruise is only the first half of your Japan trip, and Hakone or another destination comes next.
If you are unsure which route makes sense, send KT Hire your cruise ship, terminal, arrival date, flight information, hotel, passenger count and luggage details.
From there, we can help you build a route around the time you actually have.
Tokyo Cruise Terminal → Your Next Japan Journey.
FAQ
Q1. Can KT Hire pick us up directly from Tokyo International Cruise Terminal or Harumi Cruise Terminal?
Yes. Private pickup can be arranged according to your cruise ship, arrival date and expected disembarkation time.
Where terminal and parking conditions allow, the driver can park nearby and meet you at the arranged location with a name board. Please send your cruise ship name, terminal and contact information when booking so the meeting arrangement can be confirmed in advance.
Q2. Can we travel directly from the cruise terminal to Haneda or Narita Airport?
Yes. Direct private transfers can be arranged from a Tokyo cruise terminal to either Haneda Airport (HND) or Narita International Airport (NRT).
If you are traveling with several large suitcases, please provide both your passenger count and luggage quantity so that an appropriate vehicle can be recommended.
Q3. Our cruise arrives in the morning but our flight is at night. Can we go sightseeing before the airport?
Yes, depending on your actual disembarkation time and flight departure time.
A typical itinerary could be:
Cruise Terminal → Tokyo Sightseeing → Haneda Airport
Your luggage can remain in the private vehicle while you explore Tokyo, and afterward the same vehicle can take you directly to the airport.
Sightseeing requires additional vehicle time and is priced differently from a standard point-to-point transfer.
Q4. Can we visit Mt. Fuji, Hakone or Kamakura after leaving the cruise terminal?
Yes, depending on the available time, road conditions and your final destination.
Possible itineraries include:
Cruise Terminal → Mt. Fuji → Haneda Airport
Cruise Terminal → Kamakura / Enoshima → Airport Hotel
Cruise Terminal → Hakone → Ryokan
For passengers flying on the same day, sufficient time must always be allowed for the drive and airport check-in.
Q5. What information should we send when requesting a cruise terminal transfer?
Please send your cruise ship name, arrival date, cruise terminal, expected disembarkation time, passenger count, luggage quantity, flight details or hotel information, and any sightseeing destinations you would like to visit.
With this information, we can check the route and recommend a suitable vehicle and itinerary.
